MUSEUM OF

SOUND

Museum of Sound’s design is inspired by Ryoji Ikeda’s audiovisual artwork, Test Pattern. It is generated by a system that converts any type of
data, such as text, sounds, photos, and movies, into bar-code patterns and binary patterns of 0s and 1s.
Through its application, the artwork aims to exam the relationship between critical points of device performance and threshold of human perception.
The juxtaposition of spaces reinforce the idea of threshold of human perception with the emphasis
on auditory sensation and visual perception. Visitors will experience compression and rarefaction, and fast and slow movement between spaces.
